Types of pain we treat
Neuropathic pain
Neuropathic pain
Neuropathic pain arises from damage to the nervous system, particularly in cases of diabetes. It manifests as pain, burning, tingling, or a loss of sensation in the lower limbs and can significantly affect a patient's quality of life.
A common cause of neuropathic pain is diabetes, in which chronically elevated blood sugar levels damage nerve fibers and impair their blood supply.
Diabetic neuropathy
In addition to diabetes, neuropathies can arise following injuries, surgeries, or infections, as well as from spinal disorders or as a consequence of cancer treatment. Symptoms often develop gradually and may include numbness, muscle weakness, balance issues, thyroid disorders, and pain that worsens, particularly at night.
Treating neuropathic pain requires accurate diagnosis and an individualized approach. Beyond managing the underlying condition, we employ specialized pharmacological treatments targeting nerve pain, rehabilitation, and interventional pain management techniques. The goal of therapy is to alleviate pain, improve sensation, and prevent further nerve damage.
